to the page below which shows you what type of record has been
filmed (this case is E for estate, I saw some CP for Civil War
Pension; some for Guardianship, etc.) and the information "FHL reel"
you need to order the microfilm sent to the nearest LDS Family
History center. These records are also available in Montgomery, Alabama.

*The most common case-type codes are E (estate), G (guardianship), MR

question mark, the case-type is inferred but not specifically
indicated in the source index, i.e. "E?" is assumed to be an estate.

record within the Archives research room (more here).

List

I spent part of yesterday in the Pea River Historical and Genealogy Society
in
Enterprise, Al. While there I found several things that might be of
interest.

a. Memoranda for Biographical Sketch of Angus LaFayette Sellers (Appears to
be
an extract from the Sellers Folder at the Archives and History Dept, Ala
State
Capitol)
b. The Genealogy of The Daniel B. and Margaret Parker Sellers Family, by:
Edith
Odom (A rather rambling document which starts in Tarboro around 1735 with
William Sellers. Appears to use some of the Watter's materiel as well as
other
sources. Only 14 pages but covers her family fairly good.)
c. Life Story of Maude Agnes Sellers, by: Beverly Sellers Shelly
(2/2/1979).
(Seems this lady married N(H)amon Sellers and lived in Arkansas) (This
narrative
is extracted from a book, however; there is no indication of the
publication)
If you want copies of these please advise and I will forward them to you.

I am looking for info for Henry Clay Bardin and his father Andrew Bardin.
Henry (3/6/1861-11/6/1919) had one son,Cyrus(8/1/1886-7/22/1966) & 5 or
6 daughters all born in south Al. Henry was married to Mary Jane Sellers
& left, I'm told, the state sometime around 1897 after being involved in
a shooting & never returned. He supposedly moved to the state of Miss.,
changed his last name to Griffith-starting over with a new family.Henry's
father, Andrew (8/6/1833-1/2/1899)was probably also from south Alabama.
The dates are hopefully correct, they've been passed down thru the years.

List

I spent part of yesterday in the Pea River Historical and Genealogy Society
in Enterprise, Al. While there I found several things that might be of
interest.

a. Memoranda for Biographical Sketch of Angus LaFayette Sellers (Appears to
be an extract from the Sellers Folder at the Archives and History Dept, Ala
State Capitol)
b. The Genealogy of The Daniel B. and Margaret Parker Sellers Family, by:
Edith Odom (A rather rambling document which starts in Tarboro around 1735 with
William Sellers. Appears to use some of the Watter's materiel as well as
other
sources. Only 14 pages but covers her family fairly good.)
c. Life Story of Maude Agnes Sellers, by: Beverly Sellers Shelly
(2/2/1979).
(Seems this lady married N(H)amon Sellers and lived in Arkansas) (This
narrative is extracted from a book, however; there is no indication of the
publication)
If you want copies of these please advise and I will forward them to you.
Don

Surname: Henry Clay Bardin, Andrew Bardin
-------------------------

THIS WAS ON the PRIDGEN LIST, re JOHN PRIDGEN - BUT, read the LAND AREA
DETERMINATION!
Their email wasn't given on here -
PLEASE STUDY-marie, iowa
=====

Here is how she determined where John G's land lay.

>
>The Thomas (b 1780-90) shows no ownership of land in Florida, but
>from the complete 1830 census page, we see the neighbors on one
>side of him and the neighbors on the other side.  Some of
>those neighbors did patent federal land.  On a map, I located each of
>the patentees and drew dotted lines from the two nearest on one side
>to the two or three nearest  on the other side.  I had a rather
>small triangle (a bit warped) but a triangle, withal.  Tom had to live
>in the middle of that triangle.  John G. Pridgen patented land within
>two miles of that triangle location, but just across the state line in
>Alabama.  The six square mile township overlaps the county and
>state lines.  The southern state line for Alabama was decided when
>Alabama became a state in 1819.  Florida was still a territory until
>1845.  Boundaries had to be adjusted, and some who thought they
>were in one state discovered that they were in the other.
>
>Louise Pettus has done a wonderful study on the surveying
>of the boundary between NC and SC.  Seems two survey parties
>began -- one from east to west, the other from west to east.  They
>did not meet as planned, and the result is the peculiar state line that

>had to go around an Indian reservation and throw in that little "box
>shaped"  area [to SC], where the surveys were eleven miles apart.
>Small goof, but eleven miles of land could be valuable.
