Now, let me tell you what I know about Sellars.

Katherine Sellars, who died after March 21, 1842 (date of her will)
left 3 children:  Daniel, Archibald, and Katherine.  The will was
proved Sept. 6, 1842 so we know she died before that date.

Archibald Sellers I haven't spent time on but believe he was a JP at
one point in time.  I intend to spend more time on him.  I believe he
is the Arch Sellers living with the Smith family and Dorothy may be
his daughter.  However, there is a marriage record for John N. Smith
and Doratha B. Moore on Jan. 7, 1836.  So, perhaps there is no
relation.

I have no other record of Katherine, Jr. at this time.

Daniel Sellers I have more on.  He left a will.  Daniel's wife at the
time of his death was Suzanne.  He left these children:  Duncan,
Nancy A., Mary, Catherine L., Archibald Richard, and Martha Jane.

Duncan Sellers was born about 1824.  He married Catherine Womack
November 12, 1858.  They had at least three children:  Duncan, Jacky,
and Mary Ida.  These children all died young and are buried in the
Cross Roads Cemetery in Lowndes Co., AL

Nancy A. Sellars was born about 1825.  She married Elijah Myers (see
above census) on Nov. 13, 1844 in Lowndes. Co., AL.  They had at
least 2 children:  Aquis (?), and Archie Richard who died young and
is buried in Cross Roads Cemetery.

Mary Sellers was born about 1826.  She married Elijah Woodruff on Jan.
 10, 1953.

Catherine L. Sellers was born Sept. 5, 1827 and died May 24, 1854.
She married Tolliver Adams, location unknown at this time.  They had
one child:  Joseph H. Adams, born on Jan 28, 1852, died May 19, 1854.
Catherine and Joseph are buried next to each other in the Mt.
Willing Cemetery, Mt. Willing, Lowndes Co., AL.

Archibald Richard Sellers was born about 1829.  I have no other info
on him at this time.

Martha Jane Sellers was born about 1834.  I have no other info on her
at this time.

I don't know who W. C. Sellers is.  I have no marriage record for him.

The census shows some of these children living together.  Martha Jane
is living with her sister, Nancy, and Nancy's husband, Elijah.
Duncan was on his own.

As it turns out, Tolliver Adams is a connection to me, though very
distant.

I haven't spent any time on the 1860 census, but I do know that in
later years, there were other Sellers marriages.  I just haven't
gotten to the connections yet.

Hope this helps.  Maybe you can fill me in on many of these folks.

Marie,

Just noticed - John N. Smith was witness to Katherine Seller's will
(mother of Danie, etc.) and was administrator on Daniel's will.
Wonder what the connection was?  Maybe just good friends???

Hi All
According to the information that I have received on William Calvin
Sellers he was born in North Carolina between 1794 and 1800.  The family
then migrated to South Carolina and eventually to Georgia.  It was in
Jefferson County Georgia that William Calvin and his brother Alfred
married Lavinia and Elizabeth Anderson (sisters) in a double ceremony
(12-18-1818).  In the late 1820s the brothers and their wives moved to
Lowndes County Alabama.
I also thought the whole thing of William Calvin marrying his son's
sister-in-law strange but if you do enough of this you see the darndest
family relationships. I have a copy of an article written for the
Pintlala (Alabama) Historical Society Newsletter concerning this
family.  This was given to be by Mamie Sellers, the author.  She and her
husband Ronnie have done quite a bit of research into this group.  With
Mamie's permission I will be more than glad to send it along to anyone
that is interested.
