[SELLERS] new 1851 Canada Census

http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/JWGBAEB/1323

If you're searching the index of the new 1851 Canada Census looking for Sellers, some of Robert and Mary's children, York County Markham Township, are indexed incorrectly as 'Leller". Also, if you aren't having luck, you should search the index by first name only...seems if no ditto's used for children, no last name for them is index'd. Good Luck everyone!

You might try Markham Museum.  They have an extensive collection of old
records.

By the way, Hagerman's Corners, as a hamlet, has come and gone.  It has
been
absorbed by the town of Markham, and is now just part of the "burbs" of the
Greater Toronto area.

Mary, from the following information you provided:

>Historical Atlas for Wellington County, 1906
>Thomas born England 1804 married Ann Sellears. He settled in Guelph, on
Lot >7, Concession 2 B., which he cleared, later purchasing 50 acres
additional,
>and here he lived until his death, in 1870. Issue: Mrs. Benjamin Sallows,
>George, Mrs. Francis Flood, and Joseph. Of these George settled in
Chicago.

Is it correct to believe that Mrs. Francis Flood is the daughter of Thomas
& Ann Sellers?

Thanks -Les-

I need some help finding the birthplace of my g-grandfather, John W.
Sellers.
He was born, according to his obit, near Toronto, on August 22 1870. His
parents, Joseph and Hannah Sellers, were married in 1862 at the Primitive
Methodist church in Malvern, Scarborough twp. Joseph is listed in Brown's
Directory in 1866 in Scarborough twp. and i have no reason to believe they
lived anywhere else until they came to Michigan in 1871. I would be grateful
for any help.

Subject:  [Can-Ont-Simcoe] Walls/Snowden

I am new to this list.
My Walls family arrived in Canada from ERY, England about 1830 and first settled in
the Port Perry area of Ontario.  They then travelled west to Tottenham in Simco
County.  My gr. grandfather, Thomas Walls, married three times, Mahala Ashton, Sarah
Sellers Wood, and Elizabeth Snowden.  Thomas and Elizabeth were married about 1871
and produced six children, all in Tottenham.
I wonder if anyone else might be researching this family.

Thank You

Greetings All:

I too have a connection to the BLANCHFLOWER clan. Sarah Sellers Blanchflower
is my gg-grandmother. Daughter of John, she was born 1822 in King's Lynn,
Norfolk. Mother unknown.

If anyone has any further information on this family and their antecedents,
I would greatly appreciate hearing from you.
