Searchig for information on MATTHEW SELLERS b:1675 VA
married CATHERINE ?? B:1678 had WILLIAM BENJAMIN SELLERS b:1710

children of WILLIAM

BENJAMIN
ELISHA
MATTHEW--married ANN CORBETT(children--Archibald, John, Drury,Jordon,Matthew)
JOEL
JECHONIAS
MARY
SIMON

Would like to find other children of Matthew and Catherine or ANYTHING on
this line.

Thanks,

Carlah Sellers Dauer

CARLAH - We have a few members working on these children of Mathew and
Catherine and some deeds that prove  son Benjamin that died ca 1761 with
will
and guardianship papers that prove some of his kids. And his son Mathew
/married Ann Corbett that left a will naming his kids.

Which CHILD do you connect to and Where did they go? Thanks for sharing.
marie, iowa

CARLAH - I don't believe this went thro to our SELLERS group - I'll try
and
Resend - If it doesn't look good, resend - I didn't see Why?

I do have a DRURY SELLERS history written discussing these same people,
Don't
believe a Bible mentioned.
AND we do have the correction from Mrs Laker , connected somehow, believe
she
had done some of the SELLERS research
AND then  someone had sent her the MATHEW BACON SELLERS letter on his
Mother.
(I Never did Understand that either (why someone would send you a letter
stating
my mother was - but, nevertheless thats what we have, msh )

YOUR Bible should probably have the inside cover/dates/made by= Copied and
Sent
to Us And
Taken to Whoever does proven Bible Info-

ANYONE know Who this is ?

WE have about 3 MATHEW SELLERS - maybe only two? this age?

ANY HELP APPRECIATED -

I am scanning copys of all of the bible's pages that pertain to the
sellers.
I don't believe that any one but myself and cousin Susan knew about the
bible.
I also am trying to proof read some old documents that were in a trunk of
my ggrandma sellers
Hope to have this all done and gotten out to you by this weekend.
maybe some of the names will connect;also the dates.

In the front of the bible is written:

The Holy Bible
Translated out of
The Original Tongues
conformable to the edition of 1611
English Edition
printed by  Kneeland and Green
Boston. Mass
1772
#412

There is nothing else!
I have to handle it with SOFT hands or the pages crumble, So bear with me
as I try to scan it.

Marie;

What link can I go to for BRUNSWICK county, NORTH CAROLINA?
I can't find what I am looking for on the MATTHEW SELLERS and NANCY ANN
CORBETT.

They should be listed in EDGECOMB county or BRUNSWICK.

Thanks
Carlah

CARLAH - If you want what weSELLERS have extracted from documents on these
counties =
http://www.netins.net/showcase/sellerfamily/ncbruns.htm
http://www.netins.net/showcase/sellerfamily/ncedge.htm
I believe Both of These Counties will give You Links to these  SELLERS
and
where they Went.
Also some Links to Where may have  Came from = Do We have All Places they
came from?
Some will lead you back to VIRGINIA (which NC land was called before we
became a state or started patenting land)
Maybe Not, You may  have to go to Craven?
OR if you Go to VA and come down to the Counties WE have Proven SELLERS in
helps=
Don't know about the Counties, where we don't Show Sellers/with NO
INFO/burnt info?
BUT, Not a Lot of Proof on Each Family.
Thanks for Sharing, marie, iowa.

CARLA - Do Your Bible Pages Prove These Parents?

Otherwise , We Need to follow Proven Info, which is the letter or
documentation of the Son Mathew Bacon SELLERS -
Who is Son = proven thro the Will of his father -

WHERE did THIS info come from=
"I have mention of them in SALEM,LIVINGSTON,KENTUCKY abt 1778, then back

to
>COLUMBUS,BRUNSWICK,NORTH CAROLINA abt 1781."

CHECK OUT = WHERE are kids born? (This Info would have nothing to do
with Where family came from ) But, It could show land ,etc msh

OTHERWISE - Go Back to TN where Drury SELLERS went to from NC =
WARREN COTN and Counties before - And Prove Where they came from Or
Neighbors -
I think Everything we know and have shared starts about Or you can
follow Links =
http://www.netins.net/showcase/sellerfamily/tnwarren.htm
Thanks, stay in there, marie, iowa

Marie,
I got this from a cousin (John Batson) on Carlah's side
(Dorman/Campbell/Sellers)
This is suppost to be the Mary Ann that married Sellers after the death of
Eli Dorman.
This is the Mary Ann that is Carlah's Great grandfather's (Dennis Campbell)
Sister
She was born in Bourban co, Ky.
Help me sort this out!
Alvin

Notes for MARY ANN CAMPBELL:
- We have 2 conflicting stories concerning Mary Ann: 1) Her mother was
killed by the Indians when Mary Ann was 7 years old.  2) Mary Ann was
killed at a fort by the Indians while visiting her soldier husband.  The
second story says that her husband and 2 youngest children were killed as
well. Her daughter Sarah was said to have been about 12 years old at this
time, which would have been 1862.  (According to the story, my mother,
Myrtle Herzig Batson, told me when I was about 12, I recall it being that
Sarah was about 12.  In later years, in dictating the story to her sister
Velma, she recorded it that Sarah was about 14.)   I understand that the
"about" indicates that her age could have been as much as 2 years on either
side of 14.
- I believe that Mary Ann died in 1862, as her son Andrew listed his uncle
Dennis Campbell as his guardian when he joined the Union army in August of
1862. Dennis, who was Mary Ann's brother, signed for Andrew to join.  If we
can find proof of her death, then we can know Sarah's age when her mother
died.
- We only have a record of one child (1 yr old in 1860 census), named
Pricilla (or Priscilla) who could not have been Elisha's.  It's possible
that Mary Ann could have had another child between 1860 and 1862, so that
she could have taken two children with her to a fort to see a soldier.
Then, it is possible that it was Mary Ann's mother who had two children who
died with her in a fort, when Mary Ann was only 7 (according to the first
story).  That would have been about 1832, about the time of the Black Hawk
War.
