Hello, I picked up your message from the Sellers mailing list.  I am in
Tucson, AZ and am researching my husband's side of the family.  I am
looking
for Henry Clay Barden and Mary Jane Sellars/Sellers in AL or possibly NC.
The
strange thing is that on the other side of his family I have over 5000
Bible
names.  Thought it might be something you might be interested in.

The Barden name aroused my curiosity. (See previous note.)

Dr. Simpson,

Means nothing to me yet because I still have so little to go on.  All I
know
is that I am looking for Mary Jane Sellars/Sellers and she married Henry
Clay
Bardin and they lived in AL.  At this point the only children that I know
they
had were Perlie (My husband's grandmother), Callie, Flossie and Cy.  I know
they were in AL and possibly FL.  Henry Clay Bardin went out for a loaf of
bread and never came back.

CAROL - There is a MARY SELLERS married 1-29-1880 Monroe Co, AL to a HENRY
E. BARDEN.
Monroe Co lays next to Clarke, Wilcox, Butler, Conecuh and Baldwin Co's AL
She  should be on 1870 census with parents also
Does anyone have any of these 1870 census extracted?

No, not yet but I do have that Mary Sellers parents were Thomas and
Tribretty.
She had a sister Martha Anne (Prisceler), a sister Dorcass and a sister
Rosalie.  She married Henry Clay Bardin and her children were :
        Mary Frances Josephine Cathryn (Josie)
        Effie
        Cyrus (Cy)
        Carlie
        Mallie and Callie-boy and girl fraternal twins
        Perlie
Just got this from the family Bible in Fl last night.  Hope it rings a bell
somewhere with someone.

Thanks for your reply, I will check Simeone Sellers out in Henry Co., AL
in
1850.  Thomas's son-in-law was definitely Henry Clay Bardin and I believe
it was you that sent me the Monroe Co., AL 1880 census with him listed as a
member of Dr. Sellers household.  When Henry ran off to TX I do not know
what
name he assumed or if he continued to use his real name.  Thanks for this
info, maybe I can move forward a little with my search.
