Today, I found out what happened to him.

He was a private in the 15th Alabama Regiment.  At Gettysburg, he was
captured during the very famous charge of the 20th Maine Regiment.  The
charge was made famous in the book The Killer Angels and the movie
 Gettysburg.

His commanding officer, Lt Robert Wicker was the officer captured by
Joshua
Lawrence Chamberlain during the charge of his regiment.  It is in very
major
book on the battle.  After the war, Wicker married Clara Sellers,
daughter
 of H.P. Sellers.

Back to Elisha, today I learned he was taken to Fort Delaware POW camp
where
he and his cousin William Sellers both died.  They are both buried at
Finn's
 Point National Military Cemetery.

 Thanks for writing back,

       Hi
Oates Memoirs stated that Elisha A. Sellers was captured at
Gettysburg and never exchanged during the war. So this means he spent the
rest of the war as a P.O.W. Thought someone needed to know that.

 Hi All,
I do not have much on Elisha A. Sellers b. 19 Sept. 1836 AL. He was in
the
1860 Fed. Census of Pike Co., AL p. 88, 14 July 1860, Perote, AL, 614/621
as
son of farmer (1200/1700), Elisha Hugh Sellers and Harriett Thomas.
Can anyone that is researching this line supply me with some information
for
Thomas
 Eishen?  See his e-mail below.

I am writing a novel on the Civil War and I am using Elisha A. Sellers
as
one of my minor characters.  He served in Company L, 15th Alabama and he
was
captured at Gettsyburg.

Do you know what happened to him after that?
