CEMETERIES OF FORT GORDON, GEORGIA
Survey taken in the Summer of 1998
Compiled by SSG John and Libbie Davis

Fort Gordon is located near the city of Augusta and occupies a large
area of Richmond County and smaller portions of McDuffie, Jefferson
and Columbia Counties. The land was purchased by the military in
1940; this area was evidently settled after the Revolutionary War and
before 1830.
