Subject:  [GOSS] Jacob GOSS/SW>PA?>OH>IN

My oldest GOSS ancestor is Jacob (I), who came from Switzerland
(Basel?), probably stopping for a while in PA, then on to Fairfield Co.,
OH i 1807 with sons Henry and Jacob, and daughter Elizabeth. His will
was written about 1835 in Fairfield Co.

Jacob (II) was also born in Switzerland in 1792, married Elizabeth
'Betsy' WARD in 1816, and died in Fulton Co., IN in 1877.
His second wife was Margaret SELLERS.
Children of Jacob and Betsy WARD were:

Catherine, 1817, md. John  PLUNK
John D., md. Velma MC DONALD
Elizabeth, md. George REAM
Sarah, md. Levi BOWMAN 1843 Fulton Co., IN
Sebastian, b. 1825, md. Elizabeth ROUCH 1847, d. 1903 Fulton Co., IN
George, b. 1826, md. Elizabeth ALLEN 1844, d. 1910 Fulton Co., IN

The older Jacob may have come to Fairfield Co., OH with at least one
brother, Henry. I find cemetery records for a Frederick, George, and a
John of the same generation. Would like to know if and how these GOSSES
relate to the GOSS families that came from Rothenfluh, Basel,
Switzerland.

ED, thank you.
This was a query type message sent to us by an old SELLERS member - maybe connected to a CRAIG family?
=altho I don't see a CRAIG line shown.

WE don't usually show Query type messages on our main county/state page, But, we did.
I sent a reply to her regarding  CASS CO, IN possibility and no answer.
I just now did a fast check on SAMUEL SELLERS in these two counties and did NOT see.

ANY info you can send, we can try and post documents we have = census, marriages, etc.
AM sending thro our SELLERS discussion group for help and info .

WHAT is your data and places/years for this family? Mite help?
I believe I added an 1880 census with NO data on these families.
Where are We?
Where are You?

  From:
       "Cannon, Ed" <ed.cannon@boeing.com>

Sarah E Cannon was the oldest sister of my Ancestor Clement Cannon.  Both
were the children of Isaac and Nancy Cannon.  I have been looking for
information on Isaac and Nancy for many many years.  Since I have not been
able to find much about Isaac and Nancy, I have turned my attention to their
children in the hope that something about Isaac and Nancy will emerge.
Isaac and Nancy settled in Fulton co in 1836 near Kewanna.  Clement  was
born in DE, and Sarah in Attica IN.  The remaining 6 children were born in
the vicinity of Kewanna.  Clement moved to KS around 1865. Two of the other
sons died in the civil war.  The other two remained in IN.  The two other
daughters of Issac and Nancy died young <1855. Using the information I have
found on your web site, I finally found the married name of Sarah.  Then I
have traced her to a second Marriage (John Henderson).  From there, I
thought I had traced her to Cass Co, IN but the death certificate I just
obtained did not support.  Yesterday, I found a lead that may have brought
her to KS and a possible 3rd marriage (maybe).  I have traced Sarah with the
1860, 1870 and 1880 census in Fulton Co.  I am convinced that a Sarah
Sellers lived in Fulton Co, eventually remarried John Henderson.  What
happened after that is not known.
Since your website was the key, I was interesting in finding out what the
source data was (Bible, marriage record, family history etc.) in order to
firmly tie Sarah E Cannon to Sarah E Cannon-Sellers.

Any assistance you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
