Found this while searching for another family. May be helpful to
someone. There was some additional info, but I've tried to include all
names and dates. Looks like I may have missed copying something, as
don't have add'l info on W.T. and Sarah.

Wosson McCaslin, an old and respected citizen of Franklin Township, was

In the fall of 1827, the family emigrated to Johnson County and settled
in Franklin Township, just west of the city of Franklin, where the subject

old log school house that was located in Franklin, near where the

in Hardin county, Ky, in 1804, and died in this county in 1854; her mother
was born in North Carolina in 1803, and died in this county in 1867. The
Winchester family came to Johnson County in 1826, and were among the early
pioneers of this part of Indiana. To the union of Mr. and Mrs. McCaslin

David McCaslin

Died at his residence one and a half mles west of the city on the Franklin

seventy-six years, one month and eleven days.

Mr. McCaslin was born in Mercer County, Kentucky, September 11th, 1797.
HIs father lived on Thompson Creek, Mercer County, and died there leaving
a widow and six children, David being the second child in the family and
only nine years of age at the time of this father's death. The family moved
from Mercer County to the southern part of Indiana near Hanover, in 1816
and in the year 1822 David married Miss Pollie Sellers of Scott County,
Indiana. In the month of September, 1827, he came to the then wilds of
Johnson County, and entered the farm on which he lived up to the time of
his death. He at first entered an eighty acre tract of land, but in the
course of time he purchased adjoining lands until he had in one body 320
acres of good farming land, and by hard work and good management accumulated
an abundance of this worlds goods, but was always counted an honest and
upright man and was highly respected by all his neighbors. He united with
the Presbyterian Church in Scott County and on coming to Johnson County
united with the Church here in Franklin and at the time of his death had
been a member of the Presbyterian Church for over fifty years.

His funeral was preached at his last residence on last Sunday afternoon
at 2 1/2 o'clock by Rev. S. E. Wishard, after which his remains were brought
