A. W. SELLERS

is there a photographer shown, msh?

THE A S SELLERS AND HIS WIFE IS THE ONLY ONE THAT I HAVE, IT LOOKS LIKE HE WAS THE ELDEST SON OF THE OTHER FAMILY OF ALLEN W SELLERS. I BELIEVE THAT A. W. WAS ACTUALLY ALLEN WESLEY, BECAUSE JOHN L SELLERS NAMED HIS OLDEST SON ALLEN WESLEY. I DO HAVE A PHOTO OF THE SON OF JOHN AND BESSIE WHO WAS NAMED ALLEN WESLEY. I WILL HAVE TO CHECK ON MY DISCS TO LOCATE IT AND SEND IT LATER. JUANITA

======

Marie, the Allen Sellers is Allen Sedora Sellers, Elizabeth P is his wife Elizabeth Perlina Banta Sellers. I did not know the others listed. John L Sellers, their only son died there about 1971, but not sure of the date. His wife Bessie Alice Porter Sellers died there about 1981 or 1982. I do not understand why they are not listed there, they were buried in fairmount cemetery when theie son Eric Edward Sellers and I lived there with our families. John also had at least a sister living there at the time. Eva married a Mohler.

Their son John L SELLERS was born in San Marcos Texas in Hays county.

was in the Hotel Business. That is about 80 miles from Kerrville so
I will go back and try to find land records that m-ay confirm that.

born in Alabama. Will work in that direction for a while. Sorry that I

Hi, I just checked the 1860 Williamson county Tx Census and it shows
Mip. which I think is Mississippi. I have been told that the Missouri
abreviation was written that way. VCery confusing to me. Allen Sedora's
death certificate shows him to be born in Oklahoma and they have his
wife listed as his mother, some mess don't you think? I plan to write
Austin and try to get it corrected. Bye now, Juanita

      From:

Hi,
So MIP must be Mississippi. Right? So I believe that Allen D. was born
in Alabama and Allen Sedora in Mississippi. Thanks, Juanita

OK here we go starting with birth certificate of John L. SELLERS
youngest son of Allen Sedora.
John L. SELLERS, B. San Marcos Texas, May 20, 1890.
Father- Allen Sedora Sellers born Mississippi
Mother-Elizabeth Perlina BANTA born Texas-John was 12th child.

Allen Sedora SELLERS born 9 November 1846-Oklahoma
died 29 January 1918-San Angelo, Tom Green, Texas

Father-Allen D SELLERS-born Alabama
Mother-Elizabeth BANTA-born Texas

I have marriage license of Allen Sedora SELLERS and Elizabeth
Perlina BANTA-- married Texas 1871

That is it. All Census shows Mississippi as birthplace for
Allen Sedora

It seems to be a mess. Thanks,  Juanita

JUANITA -
WE must get your chart in order!

I would like you to send me info from Allen Sedoras death cert =
ages, dates, exactly what THEY say!
There may be more than one ALLEN  SELLERS -
Death certificate info is given by the person reporting = sometimes a
young child or relation that DOES NOT know -
so NOT always reliable - have to find out WHO GAVE info - then check out
the balance-
WE MUST stay and follow YOUR ALLEN SELLERS/FAMILY=
1860 WILLIAMSON CO, TX
1870 FAYETTE CO, TX

1880 = FIND on census! or WHERE was his first child born?=OK?

1900 Harris? Co, Tx  ?
1910 Tom Green Co, Tx?
1920 = where is his child YOU connect to?=

I will keep reading 1850 MS census and post as I find - HE may have
another second name he goes by or living with someone else and his
SURNAME was NOT carried forward-

Marie,
I have all of my families up to 1920 except Allen. On the death list I
sent there was two Allen Sellers. The Tom Green County one is Allen
Sedora. I think that the other one was his father Allen D. but I sent
for it and they wrote back and said that they had no Allen D. Sellers.
Maybe I should write again and ask for Allen with no D added. Talk to
you later. Juanita

JUANITA, thanks, I thought I might be losing it for awhile---
SAME family, just diff states of birth shown by OTHER people-
census SHOW born MS-
death certificates are ONLY what THAT persons knows/thinks-
birth certificates should be given by parents, just like they gave on
census -
BUT, I haven't found him on 1850 census and I don't think on
1880 TX census!
I have page numbers of indexes? for SELLERS in 1850 - if you want to go
to the other county/state boards and ask for request -
I just read the ones I have or have read -
and don't have ALL the 1850 census-
MY 1880 census is SOUNDEX/INDEX and he should be on there - shows ALL
counties,  but if census taker wrote it differant - would NOT show up-

THOSE two (2) little things is ALL it is keeping us from proving ALLEN
R. SELLERS!
I'll try and repost /update your pages soon - and you can check links to
other counties/states/etc - 2-3 days to publish web pagaes -
THANKS for your help, marie, iowa

I am a SELLERS researcher and wondered if you happen to be connected to
an Allen D SELLERS born 1815/1825 in NC or SC? His wife was Eliza Ann???

They had several children--Allen Sedora b.1848-MS.---John-b
1850-MS--James-b 1854- MS--- Felix-b 1857-MS---Margaret-b 1859-MS---and
Jeff Davis-b-1863-Texas. My line descends down through Allen Sedora
SELLERS who married Elizabeth Perlina/Paulina BANTA IN 1872-Texas. Their
children were: Eva Weltherina-b-1872-Texas---Mary
Elizabeth-b-1875-Texas---Felix Franklin and Katie-b-1878-TX--Rosa
Lee-b-1880-TX---Annie-b-1883-TX---

Juanita, according to the Watters book (Wm of Tarboro) Allen C. (1815) is
the son of William (1791) and Eleandor Edwards. Wm is the son of Matthew
(1768) and he is the son of Elisha (1744) and he is the son of William or
Benjamin (some confusion in this name) (1725 England). I hope this helps. Ed

Juanita, Jim Shaw has done a lot of work on Allen Davenport Sellers.  This
is what he found about Eliza Adaline Salisberry:

"Eliza Adaline SALISBERRY was born 14 Jun 1846, in Benton, County, Missouri,
the daughter of Isaac SALISBERRY and Sarah Z. CALLISON.  She married (1)
Henry Clinton DICKENSON on 18 Oct 1863, in Benton County, Missouri; (2)
Frank M. MILLER, on 19 Nov 1865, in Benton County, Missouri; (3) James
Michael TREASE, 30 Sep 1869, in Benton County, Missouri; and (4) Allen
Davenport SELLERS, date unknown.  James Michael TREASE died 21 Apr 1879, so
she must have married Allen SELLERS between that date and about 1887.   She
was included in the records of the Delaware Branch, Cherokee Nation, Spring
River District of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day
Saints, dated 17 Mar 1882.  The records gave her name as Eliza A. TREACE,
born 14 Jan 1846, in Warsaw, Benton County, Missouri, baptized 3 Jan 1882
(at Carey's Ferry, Cherokee Nation), and was gone to Utah on 25 Dec 1897.
Since her surname was TREACE in 1882, her marriage to Allen Davenport
SELLERS must have happened between then and about 1887."

Is she who you're looking for?  Are you related to Allen D. Sellers?  He's
my ggg-grandfather.  Karma, another descendant from Allen D. sent me a
picture of him.  I can send it on to you if you would like.

Hi Marie, and thank you very much for this letter. Do you know who Allen D

Did I send my letter to the sellers list?  It has been so long since I was

SELLERS and Elender EDWARDS was Allen T. Sellers.

Just heard from someone who thinks that My Allen D Sellers
father was named Sid Sellers. She may have some info that she will share with
me on that.
Waiting for a reply from her.

Also All of the Allen D Sellers info or guesses that I sent
to you were all the Same person, the birth years were from Census.
Somewhere I heard that he said that he was born in 1825, but
do nort remember where. I have a tendency to think that we will not
know for sure unless I can find a Will or probate in Oklahoma.

On the Sellers page you have the same information from me

(where I don't know, I feel it is Bowie, Co. as 1880 census states they
were m. that year.)
She was b. 4/1/1861 in Hempstead Co,AR as 7th child to John Raleigh and #2
Eliza.
John and Sophronia Jane lived in DeKalb where he was a cotton weigher,
farmer, and
Justice of Peace for 25 years, and Baptist. John was over 6 ft. and
"Fronie" was small,
size 5 shoe.I was born 1/24/1931 and J.R. and his 2nd dtr. were the only
grandparents
I had. J.R. had a large white,dog-run house, with front porch across the
front, swings
at either end. The bedrooms were on the left side, great room, dining room,

and kitchen
on the right. He grew blue hydranges across the front, the porch was painted
gray. There
were two cedar trees at the beginning of the sidewalk from the street that
are still there.
The yard was sand, kept mowed by using a broom to keep grass from taking
root and
swept in pretty patterns. Fronie had her quilting frame that raised to the
ceiling in the front
room, and J.R. had his rocker by the front window by his grandfather clock.
J.R. had a
garage like building that was his smokehouse off to one side. The house was

maybe four
blocks from town, which is a very small town. I would estimate the
population around
1,000. His widowed dtr., my grmother, Mary Elizabeth called "Lizzie" ran the

first
telephone office in DeKalb until she retired at 65. I have Carl James Marsh
book,
"Raleigh and Related Families,"1988. In it re mentions that a relative
thought that
J.R.'s mother was a WILSON. I wouldn't even have known he was born in Bell
Co.,
if Margie Sellers Allen who lives in DeKalb hadn't seen my query and gave me

that info.
His dtrs.thought he was born in AL. John Randolph and Sophronia Jane had the

following
9 children: Ida Bell, b.1/29/1881; Mary Elizabeth, b. 10/13/1883; Grover
Cleveland, 1/1887
(Mr. Marsh named him "John Grover", but I have his funeral notice;) James
Edward, called
Jesse, b. 9/17/1889; William Bryant, 9/1891, died teenager; Anna Augusta, b.

9/18/1894;
William Herbert, b.10/3/1899; Osia Cordelia, b. 9/30/1901, and Verda Leigh,
b. 11/11/1904.

Do any of the name patterns show up on your side? I'd love to have your
info re the Wilsons
1883 and 1887. Herbert's only child, Barbara Catherine, said her mother told

her he was one
of 13 children. I wonder if Fronie had others that died. I never knew/heard
of any except
the 9 listed. DeKalb is the last county below AR, and I don't recall then
the county line
changed. In 1836 when DeKalb was established, it was in AR.

My great grandfather was named Samuel A. Sellers. He was married to Nancy Jane Hill. My grandfathers name was Jessie Lee Sellers. I have some a little information if you think there could be a connection. My grandfather on my fathers side was Nathaniel Wilson. Thanks, Cathy Garcia

HELLO TERRI, I JUST READ YOUR LAST MESSAGE TO ME AGAIN, AND GUSS WHAT
HAPPENED?
MY BRAIN WOKE UP FOR A CHANGE. I HAVE NOT TOLD YOU THAT I HAVE FOUND TWO
PHOTOS DATED 1940. ONE IS OF ALLEN SIDORA AND WIFE, THE OTHER IS A.W.
SELLERS WITH HIS FAMILY.
I BELIEVE THAT A.W. IS THE FATHER OF ALLEN SIDORA AND THINK THAT BOTH PHOTOS
WERE TAKEN AT THE SAME PLACE AND TIME. I WILL ATTACH THEM AND SEE WHAT YOU
THINK, BUT SELLERS PHOTO SEEMS LIKE HE WAS JUST MARRIED AND THE OTHERS ARE
HIS FAMILY. THAT IS
THE FEELING THAT I GET WHEN I LOOK AT THEM. -THE FIRST ONE IS ME AND ERIC
SELLERS IN 1945, YOU CAN COMPARE HIM WITH THE OTHER MALES. WE MAY HAVE BEEN
LOOKING FOR THE WRONG MAN, I BELIEVE THAT THIS A W SELLERS IS THE FATHER OF
ALLEN S. JUANITA
