Obituary for David Phillip Sellers, son of William A. and Esther O. (Arnold) Sellers, Sr., printed in "The News Virginian" newspaper, Waynesboro, Augusta County, VA, on Monday, September 3, 1990 (Page 2, Column 1)

NOTE: Last name mistakenly printed as "Cellers" instead of as SELLERS.

David Phillip Cellers
STAUNTON - David P. Cellers, 67, a former resident of Elizabeth Miller Garden Apartments, died Sunday morning (Sept. 2) in King's Daughters' Hospital.

He was born June 14, 1923, in Greensville, N. C., a son of Arnold and Esther A. Cellers.

He served with the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II and was a member of Staunton Moose Lodge 1635.

Surviving are five children, James Crosby of Crozet, Elsie Price, of Richmond, Marva Pisco of Staunton, Penny Macklin of Rocky Mount, N. C., and Phyllis Shull of Waynesboro, a brother, William Cellers of Gainesville, Ga.; a sister, Jane Herring of Charlottesville; 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceeded in death by his wife, Mildred Jones Cellers.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Green Hill Cemetery in Churchville, conducted by the Rev. Stanlee D. Kauffman.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Hamrick Funeral Home

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Gravestone for David Phillip SELLERS located and photographed on July 4, 2004, in Green Hill Cemetery in Churchville, Augusta County, Virginia. Name is clearly inscribed as DAVID PHILLIP SELLERS (JUN 14, 1923 - SEP 2, 1990). SSDI information also confirms spelling as SELLERS. Family history emails by his brother, William A. Sellers, Jr. in October 2000 also spell last name as SELLERS.

David's daughter mentioned in the Obit, Marva PISCO, is also buried in Green Hill Cemetery with husband Albino R. PISCO: Albino R. PISCO (June 16, 1930 - April 20, 1990) Marva Crosby PISCO (Feb. 8, 1943 - Oct. 22, 1998)

I cannot determine the parents of William A. Sellers, Sr. and am wondering if anyone either connects to this family or if we already have documentation of this line.

Would appreciate any and all help in identifying this line.

Thanks!

Michael Sellers
