Here is a news article from the Hooper Sentinel 10 Feb 1927

Clinton Zellers victim of bad accident Tuesday
A most shocking accident occurred late Tuesday afternoon when Clinton
Zellers, 12 years old son of Mr. and Mr. W. M. Zellers, was the victim of
a dynamite cap which exploded and badly injured the young lad. The
explosion caused such severe injuries to the left hand that it was
necessary to amputate the thumb and middle finger back of the first
joint. The other fingers of the hand were also badly lacerated. The
injury of the most serious nature was that caused to the left eye. The
sight of this eye is gone, and at this writing it is problematical
whether the eye itself will have to be removed.
