>I have a PETER SELLERS   - 12-26-1801 Cinn Land Office buys land =
>S1-T3-R4 (A166 HL)
>I am sure he is the Peter Sellers in Hamilton Co, Ohio-
>CAN you tell me where this land was=and where it was later=

The list I checked shows Hamilton County is his residence. I believe that
S1-T3=R4 would put the land in Wayne Twp., Butler County, OH.

===========

Ezra POTTER, real estate agent, was born near Trenton, Butler County December 10, 1810. He is the son of Samuel MAXWELL and Elizabeth CODDINGTON POTTER. Samuel Maxwell POTTER was born in New Jersey, in 1779, where his family had been for a long time settled. His great grandfather, Daniel POTTER, purchased a tract of land one mile square and moved up from Connecticut Farms and built a residence upon it. The town of Summit is now build on this land in what was then Essex but now Union County, a county since formed by detached portions of Essex and Somerset, with Elizabeth for its county-seat. Summit is a beautiful suburban town, twenty-two miles from New York on the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad. When he was about eight years of age, his father, Russel POTTER , and family, left New Jersey and settled near Morgantown, Virginia. Maxwell remained with his father until he was about twenty-two years of age, when he married Elizabeth CODDINGTON, of Alleghany County, Maryland. He then left for the West, coming to Ohio in 1803d, and purchased a tract of land now known as the Henry SELLERS farm in Madison Township. There was a log cabin upon this land, and two or three acres partially cleared when he purchased it.

I was at the library today and came across a reference to the Methodist and
United Brethren meeting house near Miltonville in Madison Twp.  There was a
deed dated 1823 for the trustees of the church (Henry KUMLER, Thomas BAKER,
John SELLERS, Richard V.V. CRANE, & Daniel ROSS) to build a meeting house
and burial ground.

Now my question - Does anybody know anything about this church: where it is
or was located, who members were or where records are?

Thank you,

Brenda in TX

GC-Breathitt Co. Ky Surname: Morris, Riley
-------------------------

Trying to find information on my Grandfather, Chester Morris born: 21 Dec
1898 in Breathitt County, parents were Wiley Morris and Hulda Riley.
Chester
married Stella Mae Sellers, 7 July 1920, in Hamilton, Butler County, Ohio,
had 1 child, my Mother, Mary Hilda Morris. Stella died 2 weeks after giving
birth, and the Maternal Grandparents took the baby. Would like to find
the Morris, Riley family history.
========
There are two Wiley Morris' listed in the 1910 Breathitt Co. KY census.
One married to Polly Ann, 35 years old (farmer). Polly Ann is 30 years
old. They have seven children listed. Five sons and three daughters.

The other Wiley (cold miner) is 32 years old, married for 11 years to the
same woman (Alabama) 26 years old, with five children, all sons, listed.

There is no Chester listed with either family. I'm related to one of the
Willey's, but haven't figured out which one yet. Can provide all kids names
if that would be helpful.

I would like to hear from anyone who knew Albert Sellers in the 1920s.
He married Anna (Hayden) Korner in 1919 in Oxford,
He taught German (and other languages) at Hughes High School in
Cincinnati,
and he also worked for the Enquirer newspaper.

He came to Cincy from Oxford OH in the early 20's, and then disappeared
about 1926 or 1927.

Thanks for any information.

I have a copy of this Jonathan Sellers' Civil War Pension File and wanted to
share the information with the SELLERS list.  Maybe someone out there will
know something about this Jonathan and to which family he belongs to.  [I
was hoping this Jonathan would turn out to be my GG Grandfather's brother,
but he apparently is not].

1.  The Pension File says he was born December 1, 1831, in Butler Co., Ohio.

2.  He served as a private in the 20th Battery Regiment of Indiana Artillery
from August 20, 1862 until June 28, 1865, when he was discharged at
Indianapolis, Indiana.

3.  His places of residence after leaving the service were:  From Indiana to
Polk Co. Iowa in 1869; from Iowa to Kansas in 1870; Thayer Co. Nebraska;
Benton County, Arkansas in 1892; and to Republic Co. Kansas in 1897.

4.  The file says he had never been married and had no children.

5.  He died in 1912 in Narka, Kansas.

Any relatives out there?

Hope this is helpful to someone.

Regards,
Lynn (Sellers) Mack
