It was the obituary of Nathan "Clay" Littler which said his parents were Malinda and Stephen Littler. Because of the age of these children in the 1850 census, I really believe this was Belinda with an incorrect age and name.

             PA TO OH--WILLIAM RUNKEL SELLERS

        From:
           HJZM01A@prodigy.com ( SHERRY MAZZETTI)

Here is another Sellers in-law family belonging to me.  The Lee
connection to this family is taken from info from CJ Lee, Pat Junkin, and others.  Most of the Sellers info is from a biography of Henry Harvey Sellers taken from A BIOGRAPHICAL RECORD OF CLARK CO OHIO, ILLUSTRATED.  The S.J. Clarke Publishing Co, 1902.  Read on CD repro.
Marriage of William Runkel Sellers taken from Warren Co OH marriage books.
From the biography of Henry Harvey Sellers.  "On the
paternal side he comes of German lineage and on the maternal side is English.  Three brothers of the name came from the fatherland
about 1690 and settled in Pennsylvania near Philadelphia."  It goes
on to say that two went to Hamilton Co OH.   Because of connections with Washington Co PA folks,
I suspect some time spent there/or other family there.  William Runkel Sellers, the first
who is named, lived in Warren Co OH.  Here is what I have of this family.
WILLIAM RUNKEL SELLERS was a farmer and ran the Four Mile
House.  Was a Methodist, as were most descendants mentioned. Had two brothers "in
the medical profession."
He may have signed at least one paper belonging to my Daniel Ulrey, a
Dunkard.  Married ELIZABETH AUGHEE August 15, 1816.  Eight children--four living in
1902.  Died in Warren Co OH aged about eighty.
Children of William Runkel and Elizabeth (Aughee) SELLERS
(living in 1902):
1.  Mary married MCDONALD
2.  Melvina married BURNETT
3.  Amanda married RUSSELL
4.  Ferdinand b. 1828 d. aft 1902 married 1847 Warren Co OH to
Rebecca HORMELL b. 1828
prob Warren Co OH d. 1887 Burlington, Greene Co OH
Rebecca Hormell was daughter of Henry HORMELL and Margaret FREY,
granddaughter of Henry HORMELL and Eleanor LEE, great-grandaughter of William LEE and Cathern/Katherine (ROSS?). (I am descended from William and Cathern's daughter Phebe.) Hormell family believed
to be Quaker. More on the Lee family, if anyone wants it.  Ferdinand
and Rebecca had nine children--two died in infancy.  Ferdinand operated a sawmill, did
general merchandising and was postmaster in Clinton Co OH.  Apparently moved back to Warren Co OH to be with father until his death, then.moved to and operated a sawmill in Greene Co OH.  Son- in-law E.E. Lackey operated it later.
Children of Ferdinand and Rebecca (Hormell) SELLERS (living
in 1902):
1. Laura m. Ellsworth E. LACKEY
2. Owen M.
3. Wilbur S.
4. Ettie m. Frederick LUCAS
5. Charles E.
6. Addie (probably single)
7. Henry Harvey b. July 13, 1868 near Lebanon, Warren Co OH d.aft
1902 married Sept. 26,
1888 in Springfield, OH to Millie DARROW b. Nov. 1869 Dayton, OH dau
of William J.
DARROW and Isabelle SEGROVE. Henry Harvey is the subject of the
sketch and quite a bit is written about him.  In 1902, he was cashier in the post office in
Springfield and a Methodist.
Children of Henry Harvey and Millie (Darrow) SELLERS:
1.  Darrow Hormell b. June 26, 1889
2.  Joseph William b. March 25, 1893
Hope this helps someone.  Would be interested to know more of
forebears of William Runkel Sellers.  Obvious clue is "Runkel."  Mother's maiden name???

MikeAmber [mikeamber@lvcm.com]

biographical sketch about Henry Harvey Sellers.  The original full sketch was part of "A Biographical Record of Clark County, Ohio, Illustrated.  The S.J. Clarke Publising Co, 1902."
The excerpt stated the following from the biography of Henry Harvey Sellers:  "On the paternal side he comes from German lineage and on the maternal side is English.  Three brothers of the name came from the fatherland about 1690 and settled in Pennsylvania near Philadelphia."  It goes on to say that two went to Hamilton Co. Ohio.  I have not seen the entire sketch, so if anyone does have a copy of it please post.

What made me take such notice of this sketch is that Henry Harvey Sellers was a DIRECT descendent of Heinrich (1704-circa 1775) and Anna Maria Zeller.  To wit:

Heinrich and Anna Maria Zeller
    Johannes and Elizabeth (Pirkey) Sellers
        Jacob and Margaret (Runkel) Sellers
William Runkel and Elizabeth (Aughe) Sellers
                Ferdinand and Rebecca (Hormel) Sellers
Henry Harvey and Millicent (Darrow) Sellers

If Henry Harvey's lineage is indeed German and the result of "Three brothers of the name [coming] from the fatherland about 1690", then perhaps we have a clue about finding more of our family and pushing the Sellers lines back even further.  Perhaps its a clue as to how Heinrich originally got here and where we can look.  Perhaps the "Heinrich Zeller" who arrived in 1738 wasn't "our" Heinrich Zeller.  Perhaps "our" Heinrich and his/our family had been here since around 1690 ....?
ETC

MIKE, thanks for sharing ideas and possibilities.

We do NOT have this biography of Clark Co., OH.
(will post if you get copy)

and we do NOT have the
History and Genealogy of the SELLERS family by David Randolph SELLERS,
1949/1981 by ROBINS ADVertising,INC, PRINTERS 1966, CINN, OH
Which is suppose to be on this Direct family of FERDINAND SELLERS 1824/1911.
AND HIS son HENRY HARVEY SELERS 1868/1951 CA
I believe this could be useful.
IT does connect to the immigrant HEINRICH ZELLERS 1704 WEINHEIM,GERMANY.

WE do NOT have ALL info from immigrant HEINRICH ZELLER 1704, to US in
1738 till 1750 Aug Co,. VA  and died in 1773 AUG CO, VA
and then Rock Co., Va made from.

1738/1750 could be a brick wall, but,we had? to stay in PA for 5/7 yrs?
after immigration?
ANY kids born then? 1738/1750?
PHIL CO, PA has good church records = if same church, etc.
and ANY living kids in 1880 May show place of birth of parents in
 VA or PA?

WE have info from some of the KIDS , but none during 1738/1750.
SO these kids didn't marry, etc before? too young?
AFTER 1750 we have very good documents.
MAYBE I missed YOUR brick wall?

ANY NEW info from members and New documents that may be available?

THANKS for caring and sharing, marie, iowa

CLARK CO, OH
William C. STEWART, farmer and stock-grower; P.O. Springfield; young-est son of John T. Stewart, and one of a numerous family always found at the front in every good work; was born in this township Oct. 27, 1835. Like that of nearly all young men of his youth, his early training was upon the farm, and his early educa-tion was that of the public schools of his youth. His father dying when he was 14 years old, the management of the Stewart homestead fell upon him at an early age - a responsibility, which he did not evade, but well discharged. This farm was one of the earliest settled in the township, and is now occupied and owned by the subject of this sketch, who has added to it until his lands embrace 486 acres of the best quality of farms and lands in the locality. His mother, surviving the death of his father, con-tinued in control of the homestead household until June, 1880, when advancing age and ill-health compelled her to quit her home of long years, of much joy and some sorrow, for the kind care and attention of a daughter. The subject of this sketch, mindful of filial duty, remained single so long as this dear mother remained in the old homestead. On Sept. 9, 1880, he was joined in marriage to Miss Lizzie T., an accomplished lady, daughter of Albert and Harriet Sellers, of Greene Co., this State. May their united years be as joyous as the writer's wish.

CURRY, JACOBY, STEWART biography for E. R. Stewart

E. R. STEWART, miller; P.O. Clifton; was born Jan. 20, 1821, in this township. Reared in farm life, he continued it with his parents, John T. and Ann, until in 1846, when he commenced farming for himself two miles from the homestead. In 1848, he formed a co-partnership in the milling business with John H. Jacoby, a brother-in-law. In 1852, this was dissolved, and he went into merchandising with his brother Samuel, and continued until 1860, when he returned to farming. In 1864, he and Mr. Jacoby bought the Clifton Mills, which, in 1865, were destroyed by fire. They rebuilt, and continued the business until 1872, when the co-partnership was dissolved by Mr. Stewart purchasing Mr. Jacoby's interest. He has since continued the business himself. The mill is a four run of 100 - barrel daily capacity, and is kept running night and day. On Oct. 8, 1846, he was united in marriage to Rachel E., daughter of Henry and Rebecca Curry Jacoby, who still is on the journey of life with him. The issue of this marriage has been four girls and two boys, all of whom are living except one boy. Mr. Stewart is one of those enterprising and fair-dealing busi-ness men in whom the people of his neighborhood have the utmost confidence, and for whom all bare a profound respect.

JULY 2005

I'm looking for information concerning Aaron Sellers and his wife, Rebecca, in the area of North Manchester in Wabash County.

Aaron Sellers was born about 1843 in Clark County, Ohio, and eventually moved with wife Rebecca to North Manchester by the time of the 1880 Census when he was 35. Land records show he was there in 1883, but we lose him after that. Family 'tradition' says he died in North Manchester at a relatively young age. Unfortunately, we have no idea when exactly he and Rebecca died nor where they are buried.

I would greatly appreciate hearing from anyone who has access to lookup sources that might reveal something about Aaron and Rebecca, especially when they passed and where they were buried. There are a couple of pictures of Aaron still with the family, but here we are 122 years later and he's still "missing". Would really like to finally found out what happened to the two of them.

Thanks much for your time,

Michael Sellers
