DEMARIS/ etc is connected to DRURY SELLERS 1781/1853 married a DEMARIS
to
IL?
marie, iowa
Someone mentioned something about Jesse and Martha Sellars. Jesse is
my
gr.
gr. uncle. He married Martha Jones Dec. 17,
1854 in Graves
County, KY.
Jesse, the son of Larkin and Demarise Sellars of
Robertson County TN.
Demarise died in Robertson Co., 1856, Larkin
died in August 1858 both died
in Robertson Co. TN. Jesse came
to Graves County in 1853 from Robertson
Co.
By 1860 when
the census was enumerated all the children were in Graves
County. 1860 Graves County Census shows my gr. grandmother
Caroline
Sellars and her brother Willis. In 1866 Caroline
married Wm. D. C.
Johnson
a widower with children.
They had three of their own including my
grandfather.
Marie, I'm still more or less feeling my way around
this showcase. Not
really familiar with procedures etc.
Do I send information to you?
This area of Robertson County is like a lot of others I've worked in.
These families spill over into one another, until you will be working
on
one family and wind up in the middle of another. A
continuous round robin
of family connections.
My Larkin Sellars is well documented by information on this. His
parentage
still seems to be unproven. Also actual links among
the Sellars are not
established.
I am wondering if we should start with the will of Benjamin Menees,
since
it took place there in Robertson Co. 1811. List the
children and the
connections to other families in the area.
These Darden, Fyke, Perry among
a few are names associated with his
son Isaac Menees who died there in
1816. Sellars is the
married name of a daughter Elinor. Everything I
have documented
on this is already posted, with the exception of the will
of
Benj. The 1802 notice of his heirs on the tax lists tells they were
there, but who?
I don't want to intrude on your time, however; you are more familiar
with
postings and how they should be done to get the greatest
response.
The queries listed on Ronnie Ragans sight are my family and both these
gals
are known by me.
Mull this over and offer your thoughts on the best way to handle.
Thanks
Oleen

Sorry about the back discs, these bodies do wear
out, but, they have taken
pretty good
care of us -
I will try and remember all this- Best Wishes-

OLEEN, Thank You Very Much for sharing info with us from a book you
are
selling!
Some of these SELLERS were in the Williamson Co,TN area when they voted
to
make
Maury Co from part of their land.
We
seem to be connected to the Chatham Co,NC area where James SELLERS will
of
1804 had wife Patience, sons Young, Issac, Robert and
others. Believe
Patience
SELLERS died Maury Co, TN
1812.
This John SELLERS may have been married before he came to
TN - Their is a
James
KENNY will of 1816 in WILLIAMSON CO,
TN.
WE need to work on All of these surrounding counties for info and
also NC
and
also war records. Thanks for sharing with us
and best wishes on your book
and
research. It should
be linked to on the Graves/Hickman Co, KY web pages.
