Is there anyone out there related to or working the line of W.M. STRICKER who married LAURA OLDHAM on Sept. 10, 1900 in Waco, McLennan Co., TX? I believe his name was WALTER M.  LAURA OLDHAM was b. May 19, 1884, d. May 30, 1910 in Waco, TX.  She was the daughter of BELLZORA (various spellings) SELLERS, b. Aug. 28, 1866 to DR. JOHN WARD SELLERS & LYNIA JANE GODWIN in CORYELL CO., TX.  LAURA OLDHAM's father was JAMES A. OLDHAM.  I need to find out what happened to WALTER STRICKER and any of he and LAURA's children.  I will share what I have with anyone working this line.
Thanks, Lynda Green

Subject:  [STRICKER] WALTER W. STRICKER/LAURA OLDHAM DESCENDANTS?

I am seeking information regarding WALTER W. STRICKER, b. 1878 TX, to W. STRICKER, b. 1843 Germany & A.B. FRANZ, b. 1854 Germany who married abt. 1870 in TX.  This family appears in the 1880 Robertson Co., TX Census.

On Sept. 10, 1900, WALTER W. STRICKER married LAURA FRANCES OLDHAM in Waco, McLennan Co., TX.  She was born May 19, 1884 in Waco, McLennan Co., TX to James A. Oldham & Bellzora Sellers.  LAURA was a switchboard operator in the 1900 Waco, McLennan Co., TX Census.  They were married almost 10 years until LAURA died on May 30, 1910 and should have had several children by that time but I cannot find them or just WALTER with children in the 1910 census.

Is there anyone out there researching this line and if so, do you know what happened to WALTER W. STRICKER?  I look forward to hearing from anyone working this line and will gladly share what I little I have.

Thanks, Lynda

MART CEMETERY

Sellers, J M b. Dec. 28, 1876 d. Jun. 6, 1912 Mart Cemetery Mart McLennan County Texas, USA
J M Sellers Birth: Dec. 28, 1876 Death: Jun. 6, 1912 THE MART HERALD JUNE 14, 1912 The accidental death of J. M. Sellers in the I. & G.N. yards at Tyler mention of which was made in last week's Herald, proved to be a remarkable co-incidence. Later advices developed the fact that Sellers in his capacity of claim agent for the company was investigating the death of a woman who had been killed at this same crossing where he himself was struck down by a backing train. The body was embalmed and forwarded to Mart, accompanied by a representative of the local order of Elks of which organization deceased was a member. Several others also came for the funeral. The sad accident was such a blow to the mother that she was unable to attend the funeral, which was conducted by her pastor, Rev. J. W. Fort, at the Methodist Church nine o'clock Saturday morning. Interment immediately followed in Mart Cemetery. The pall bearers were Messrs. E. G. Goforth, L. D. Fretwell, J. D. Nash, J. E. Carroll, J. C. Hume and T. H. Williams. Those present from out of town were Mrs. A. P. Jones of Fort Worth, sister of the deceased, accompanied by her husband; Messrs. S. W. Green, A. T. Kniece, Atty. C.M. Kay and Atty. G. R. Fowler of Palestine, Asst. Claim Agt. E. R. Ramsey and H.F. Burnie, chief clerk Claim Dept., Houston; Asst. Claim Agts. J. C. Hume and T. S. Tarbutton of San Antonio. There were many beautiful floral offerings, attesting to the esteem in which deceased was held by numerous friends.
