Attached is a descendants report, showing the connection from the Lees of
Johnston Co, NC, to the very numerous Lees of Barbour/Bullock Co, AL.
This
shows that Winifred Lee, dau. of Robert Lee, married Stephen Blackman.

I would appreciate anything on the Blackmans, as well as Sellers and
Rushtons.

I would especially like to have the census page numbers for all the Sellers
of Montgomery Co, AL, and details on the 1900 and 1910 censuses for L. J.
Sellers and her family.  She was an Eiland.  Abigail (Abi) Eiland,
Hitchcock
widow, married Henry King of Barbour Co, AL, and was my
gr-gr-grandmother.

Lees of
Johnston Co, NC, to the very numerous Lees of Barbour/Bullock Co, AL.
This shows that Winifred Lee, dau. of Robert Lee, married Stephen
Blackman.
----
I believe I see this family in the JOHNSTON CO, NC wills/deeds etc-
-----
DO and HOW do they connect to the DUPLIN/SAMPSON CO, NC Lee's/Blackmans?
ANY Ages/Dates is what we need=
DATES are CRITICAL?
AS these Counties are ALL made from same LARGE Area= CRAVEN, New Hanover,
Duplin,
Sampson=
SOME land laid in one area = on a creek and some on Others
BUT, later on we do have some SELLERS from Duplin? etc
showing selling land from Johnston Co, NC
SO, may be connected thro JOHN SELLERS? (memory, msh)
-----
I may have sent this before, but as Long as you are in Johnston Co,NC- We
have =
JOHN SELLERS of Johnston Co, NC married Anne BLACKMAN born 1799 , dau of
JOSIAH
BLACKMAN born 1760 DUPLIN CO,(Sampson Co, area)
This JOSIAH BLACKMAN 1760 son of JOSEPH and ELIZABETH LEE BLACKMAN =
-----
CAN't prove this connection of families = IT has to be there=
NEED Land Deeds = would show creek/etc lived on =
I do have some early land deeds on SELLERS , don't think they show
Johnston Co -
Duplin, Craven, Just the Early Counties And then you need to follow Land
Sales and
Changes of Counties-
But, Land Descriptions Stay the Same, Except When someone SELLS to
someone else
and Later it becomes (that Name( Creek -
Hope you understand and can send some DATES with People-

Believe we have some info on our JOHNSTON CO, NC page = don't think these
other

Marie,

I'm way down here in Florida, still working full time for a little bit
longer, and I keep forgetting where Johnston Co, NC even is.  I would
sure
love to have deeds or deed information, such as creek names, and more
dates,
ages, etc., but I think I'm pretty lucky to get what I have from generous
and
knowledgeable persons such as yourself.  <GR>

I do want to help, and to contribute as much as possible.  I really
appreciate your responses -- they are right on target -- and all the
other
postings I have seen from you.

Thanks,
Bill

    Dear Marie,

I found some information on the Rushton - Sellers connection on the
internet
at

http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/6610/fam00168.htm

I think you might find it useful, or at least I hope so.

Sincerely,

Dear Mr. Buchanan:

The C. F. BEVERLY whom Stephen Gamaliel Sellers married 21 Nov 1877 was
Catherine F. BEVERLY, sister of my gr-grandmother Malissa Ann Isabelle
(BEVERLY) DARNELL.  Catherine is buried in Greenwood Cemetery, in
Montgomery,
AL,  next to the graves of my gr-grandparents, Dr. Benjamin Franklin
DARNELL
and Malissa Ann Isabelle (BEVERLY) DARNELL.  Catherine's tombstone reads:

            AUNTIE
    CATHERINE BEVERLY SELLERS
            1855 - 1938

I have no documented information on the parentage/ancestry of Malissa and
Catherine.  Supposedly, their parents were James BEVERLY and Mary Ann
(WHALEY) BEVERLY.  If anyone knows anything about the Beverlys or the
Whaleys, I would appreciate help.
